dD+P was selected to design the Passenger Experience Enhancements contract for Grand Central Madison, also known as East Side Access. Design elements include digital advertising, wayfinding, lighting of station artwork, graphics, programmable colored lighting, and other station improvements. These enhancements helped bring this long-awaited 750,000 SF extension of Grand Central Terminal up to 21st-century station design as well as meet current passenger and Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) needs. Grand Central Madison reduces Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) customers’ travel times from Manhattan’s East Side and transfers can now be made to Metro-North lines.
