On May 7th, AIA New York State held its annual Excelsior Awards Reception in Albany, NY where the MTA project Re-Envisioning the Elevated: Four Stations on the Astoria Line received an Excelsior Award of Merit for Public Architecture in the category of Public Art. The team of contributing firms that made this award-winning project possible ensured that each elevated station design promoted a sense of unity between transit and public art while simultaneously decluttering conduits and enhancing customer experience. Accepting the award were members of the di Domenico + Partners transit team alongside a representative from the project’s prime consultant, AECOM. From left to right, the accepting recipients were Project Designer, Brian Ravinsky; Project Designer, Alan Chan; Associate Principal, Ricky Liu; Principal, Andrew Berger; AECOM Project Engineer, Brian Aksman; and Associate Principal, Tilman Globig.
