Throughout NYC, vaccination sites are sprouting up in various public and private spaces including at some of NYC’s iconic landmarks. CitiField, home of the New York Mets, has transformed itself into one of these vax sites due to a large amount of unused space during the offseason and fan-limited games. With dD+P’s guidance and experience with vaccination site layouts at the Jacob K. Javits Center and the Barclays Center – CitiField quickly became a hub for residents in Queens to receive their COVID-19 vaccinations.

The programming behind the vaccination layout design emphasizes clear communication – allowing people to safely navigate this massive venue; effective use of space – maximizing efficiency within the area allotted to the design through the Mets; as well as flexibility – completely transforming parts of the ballpark.

Ultimately the distribution of the vaccine has offered a light and the end of the tunnel and dD+P is so humbled to have been able to work on designing these layouts – facilitating a way for New York City to get back on its feet.
