In a controlled experiment, one Broadway Subway Station entrance was flooded to test a new entry stairway flex gate barrier. di Domenico + Partners provided architectural design as part of the team that implemented flood mitigation solutions for this station and eight others along with the G and 7 lines. After Superstorm Sandy, these stations required the incorporation of new, flood preventative elements in the event of another devastating hurricane.
