On March 20th, 2023, dD+P celebrated the groundbreaking of the new addition to PS 26Q in Fresh Meadows, Queens!
dD+P joined NYC School Construction Authority (SCA), President/CEO of NYC SCA Nina Kubota, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, NY Assemblywoman representing Eastern Queens Nily Rozic, NYC District 23 Council Member Linda Lee, former NYC District 23 Council Member Barry Grodenchik, Principals Andrew Pecorella and Jamie Allen, and community members to celebrate the addition of 399 seats coming in September of 2025.
PS 26Q’s new 4-story addition will be a fully air-conditioned, accessible facility for pre-K through 5th grade students and include the following amenities: 2 pre-K classrooms, 6 kindergarten classrooms, 8 standard classrooms, 4 special education classrooms, 2 reading/speech resource rooms, science resource room, art classroom, full kitchen complex, student dining area, guidance suite, staff workroom, parent/community room, bicycle storage, exercise room, and an outdoor playground. The new addition will also include sustainable features such as rooftop photovoltaic solar panels.
