Retained by the Javits Center for multiple renovations, overseeing the expansion, and the program/design of transformative environments, dD+P continues their 30+ year relationship with the Javits Center with their newest addition, the event Roof Terrace. dD+P developed the program and design of the outdoor meeting spaces including furniture, fixtures, and equipment selection, as well as architectural elements such as the “sun clouds” (shade structures).

The Javits Center recently released a video tour featuring one of the largest rooftop orchards in the world and the massive event terrace overlooking the Hudson River, highlighting dD+P’s designs. Surrounded by landscaped greenery, these outdoor gathering spaces are an example of how networking, meeting, and event spaces have adapted to the post-Covid world, how meeting spaces have shifted to become more flexible, dynamic, and collaborative in their programming, and how sustainability will continue to be at the forefront of architecture.
