Samara Community School (PS 320X) has been NYC Green Schools Certified! To create a healthier and more sustainable environment for students and staff, the school was designed to include abundant natural daylighting, low-VOC materials for healthier air quality, water-saving plumbing systems, and optimize energy efficiency. Samara Community School received a score equivalent to Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Gold.
dD+P designed the new 61,672 SF, 458 student capacity school in the heart of the West Farms neighborhood of the Bronx. The 5-story facility serves Pre-K through 5th grade and houses a kitchen/cafeteria complex, gymnasium, library, project room, classrooms, and a rooftop play area on the 4th floor.
