This week, dD+P’s Alan Chan and Brian Ravinsky attended the American Planning Association (APA) 2023 National Planning Conference in Philadelphia!

The sessions provided valuable insight and perspectives on the latest planning trends and best practices ranging from innovative approaches to community engagement to sustainable development and equitable planning. Session topics included Climate Emergency, Digitalization, Diversification of Transportation, Future of Work, Upskilling + Reskilling, Health Equity + Nature, Housing Affordability, Availability + Accessibility, Implementation of Federal Programs + Grants, Political Shifts + Polarization, and Population Diversity + Inclusive Design.

Alan and Brian look forward to sharing what they learned at the conference with the rest of the studio and discussing how dD+P can push forward innovative, climate-aware, and equitable design in the planning of all project types.

Many thanks to the APA for organizing NPC23!
