This past week, dD+P studio members Sherif Awad and Aileen Muñoz attended the Greenbuild International Conference + Expo
in San Francisco. The purpose of the conference was to cover topics such as sustainability, resilience, health, and wellness in the spaces where we live, work, learn, and play. Their biggest takeaways from the conference included the effects of embodied carbon which is the CO2 emissions from materials and construction processes, various sustainability strategies, deconstruction over demolition to promote reuse and preservation, and the “Rising Collective” discussion from the Women in Green series.

Sherif and Aileen look forward to sharing what they learned at the conference with the rest of the studio through dD+P’s ongoing series of conversations called Share-A-Thought.
