dD+P designed a new student athletic center for Fordham University’s Vince Lombardi Memorial Center. Our design transformed a previously disused space in the 1970’s facility into a well-lit, spacious fitness center that has become a significant campus amenity and gathering place. Sustainable design features included high-efficiency lighting and mechanical systems, as well as the use of recycled materials and finishes.
dD+P worked closely with the University and engineering disciplines to complete the project on a highly-accelerated schedule. We were on-call daily to deal with construction issues so they could be resolved as quickly as possible. We met regularly with the facilities group to design and manage swing space for the continuous operation of adjacent spaces in the Student Center.
